Information Collection and Use
Zero Personal Data Collected
The application does not collect, transmit, store, or sell any personal information, device identifiers, IP addresses, location data, or behavioral analytics.
Zero Third-Party SDKs
No advertising networks, no telemetry services, no crash reporting SDKs, and no social media trackers are bundled within the app.
On-Device Local Data Storage
All user-configured prayer calculations (7 global conventions), selected Adhan reciters, saved location coordinates, and Hijri manual offsets are stored strictly locally on the user’s device via local SQLite databases and SharedPreferences.
This data never leaves the user’s physical device and is automatically removed if the app is uninstalled.
Device Permissions & Hardware Usage
Meeqat uses device capabilities only to support on-device worship workflows. All processing is 100% offline. None of these signals are uploaded.
Location Services (GPS & Network)
Location is used strictly to power the standalone offline ephemeris engine that calculates precise daily prayer times and solar/lunar positions. Coordinates are stored only on the device and are never transmitted, uploaded, or shared.
Device Sensors (Magnetometer & Accelerometer)
These sensors are used solely to power the sensor-fused true-north Qibla compass and Astrolabe. No sensor telemetry is saved or transmitted.
Alarms & Background Services
Exact alarm permissions are required locally to fire Doze-proof Adhan recitations reliably. Scheduling and playback remain on-device.
Do Not Disturb (DND) Access
Notification policy access is used optionally for Salah Focus Mode to automatically silence the device during Iqamah times. This functions entirely locally.
Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is completely safe for users of all ages as no data is collected from anyone.
Policy Updates & Changes
This Privacy Policy is effective as of October 2026. If we ever change how Meeqat handles information, we will update this page and revise the effective date. Because the app remains offline-first and collects no personal data, material changes of this kind are not expected.
